🌿 Your Voice, Your Future – Youth Research Unfolds in Pissouri 🌿

On the 20th of April 2025, the charming village of Pissouri became a beacon of civic participation and youth empowerment. As part of the European project "Cities 4 Youth – Next Generation", ACPELIA proudly launched a large-scale public research activity, embedding it within the vibrant setting of Pissouri's traditional Easter Festivities.

With a specially designed booth present from early morning until late at night, the ACPELIA team created a welcoming space in the heart of the celebrations—encouraging dialogue, curiosity, and civic expression. This well-timed initiative gave voice to over 300 young people from Pissouri and its surrounding areas, who shared their ideas, needs, and aspirations through a multilingual survey provided in both Greek and English, reflecting the inclusive and multicultural character of the local community.

This momentous activity marks a significant step in the implementation of Work Package 2 of the project, serving as the foundation for the creation of a comprehensive Youth Activity Map. This tool will offer meaningful guidance to local authorities, institutions, and civil society organizations, supporting better planning, inclusive youth policies, and sustainable community engagement.

Beyond data collection, the event became a celebration of active citizenship and intergenerational connection. Local families, youth groups, and community members engaged with the team, learned more about the project, and contributed to a growing culture of participatory democracy. We need to mention here that the research continues in schools and with youths in Pissouri so as to have more than 500 answered questionnaires so as to be able to work with them. 

The enthusiasm, trust, and honest contributions of the youth during this activity underline the success and impact of the initiative. We warmly thank every participant and supporter who made this research not only possible but inspiring.
